Our Story

We have reserved the entire venue at Captain Whidbey for the weekend, including rooms. Guests are encouraged to stay on site. We will be assigning rooms, so no need to worry about booking on your own. Once we have all of the RSVPs on April 1st, we will send out booking links. Check in at 3pm on Friday the 29th and check out 11am on Sunday the 31st. Captain Whidbey Website:

1. After landing at SEA-TAC (Seattle - Tacoma International Airport) drive North on I-5 for about 40–50 minutes to the Mukilteo Ferry Terminal. ***You can choose to fly into Paine Field Airport, which is a smaller airport in Everett. It is only a 10 minute drive to The Mukilteo Ferry Terminal. 2. We highly recommend renting a car from the airport to get to the venue, if feasible. It will be cheaper than Uber/Lyfts, which are very hard to come by on the island, making it difficult to get to the venue from the Clinton Ferry Terminal without a car. 3. Purchase ferry tickets at the window at Mukilteo Ferry Terminal (buying ahead is usually not necessary). 4. Board the ferry, which you can drive or walk onto. Ferry departs every 30 minutes from 5 a.m. to midnight. 5. Enjoy the 20-minute scenic ride. 6. Arrive at the Clinton Ferry Terminal. 7. After the Clinton Ferry continue on SR-525 as it becomes&nbsp;SR-20 N&nbsp;northward up Whidbey Island.&nbsp;Follow SR-20 N through Langley and onward toward Coupeville. 8. Don’t miss out—book your spot early and be part of the fun!&nbsp; About the tour:&nbsp;This intimate, two-hour kayak experience launches right from the dock of their wedding venue, the historic and charming Captain Whidbey Inn on Penn Cove. Your guide will share the rich history, habitat and aquaculture of Penn Cove while you paddle along bluffs fringed with stately madrona trees and under the watchful eyes of herons and eagles. Short, beautiful oceanside hike less than 15 minute drive from Captain Whidbey.

Hike at Ebeys Landing

Explore Deception Pass State Park, which is a 20 minute drive North of Captain Whidbey. Hike the various trails in the park, or simply take a walk across the famous bridge, with wonderful views of wildlife and the Puget Sound beneath.

Cute, little downtown just a 10 minute drive from the Clinton Ferry Terminal.- Get a slice of pie at the delicious Whidbey Pies. We recommend the Marionberry.- Grab a beer at Double Bluff Brewery- Shop at the handful of thrift shops and boutiques. Our favorite boutique is Alma (expensive, but lovely). Local Restaurants- Saltwater: fish house &amp; oyster bar- Langley Kitchen: sandwiches and baked goods- The Braeburn: breakfast and lunch- Ultra House: Ramen

Things to Do

We wanted to play on the curated, 1970s style of the venue by encouraging guests to wear vintage or vintage-inspired pieces. Whatever era you like, just have fun with it!You are welcome to dress either in cocktail attire or festive attire. Festive attire encourages you to show off a little more of your personal style and flair.“Festive attire combines elegance with personality, so choose bright colors and bold prints while staying polished.- Women should experiment with vibrant dresses, jumpsuits, or separates, and pair them with standout jewelry and accessories.- Men can wear well-tailored suits in jewel tones or patterned fabrics, with colorful ties and accessories for flair.”

Can I bring alcohol for the weekend?- The venue is very strict about no outside alcohol. If you do plan to bring some, please just be discreet ;) Are kids allowed at the wedding?- We have chosen to have a child -free wedding. We appreciate your understanding. Can I bring additional guests besides those addressed on my invite?- Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate any additional guests due to the intimate nature of our wedding. Again, we appreciate your understanding.

Will I have to share a bathroom?-All of the lagoon rooms have their own private bathrooms. The historic inn rooms have two shared bathrooms and two private bathrooms downstairs.
